Creating the Sound for Taiwan
After being established for more than 20 years, the Joshua Band has responded to the prophetic words they’ve received more than once to create the worship music that’s unique to Taiwan and the Chinese-speaking church around the globe. Not only do the band members encourage one another in creating music, they’ve also held songwriting retreats twice a year, and recorded these co-written songs in the new albums. In 2018, the Joshua Band released their first original worship and praise album “Feast of the Father”, and “I Surrender”, “All Leads to You” “Get There” and “Way to You” in the following years.
Starting from 2020, the Joshua Band has also tried something new, including presenting “Fire Place” which is live worship recording sessions, hoping to sing praises together with all the listeners till they meet the Lord and be restrengthened in Him; the launch of unplugged version of different worship songs, such as “Acoustic Live | Make Our Home Great (In Remembrance of Villa Campus)”, “Acoustic Live | Endless Love”, inviting you to sing to the love and grace of God; they’ve also recorded MV for the “For Our Beloved Land” in Taoyuan and Hualien where there’s beautiful and thriving scenery, singing out the blessing and prayer over Taiwan, also to sing songs about submission, restoration and healing.
Worship Tour
In addition to publishing worship albums, we are also eager to share the worship music of other countries with the churches in Taiwan. We occasionally invite Bethel Music and Gateway Worship to Taiwan for worship tours, going to cities such as Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung to lead the churches to experience their worship, and to renew and regain strength together through worship.
Worship School
The millennials generally value music more than the past generation, and worship can be a bridge to help young people of this generation open their hearts to God. We believe that God wants to raise a new generation of worshippers, a nation filled with kings and priests who can lead the generation through their voices to follow God. Beginning in July 2018, the main leaders and pastors of Joshua Band, and the team of the Taipei Bread of Life Church formed a group of teachers for Worship school, offering courses on playing various instruments, on vocals, on lighting, sound control, etc. The professional curriculum is expected to build and nurture the lives of brothers and sisters, and to make new breakthroughs in worship skills and professions, consequently becoming a blessing to the local churches.
Joshua Band
Worship has always been the major ministry of the Joshua Band, and yet the key motivation for them to lead worship in the long run is to have a true worshiper’s life. For the Joshua Band, it means to do life together, support one another and create a safe and free environment for them to be who God created them to be. There could be quarrels and conflicts, and yet they’re also wiling to always make that choice to stay connected in the sovereign of the Lord. This is a life that’s been tested and has grown; hence it brings out the worship that’s full of life.
